Cadets top Keydets
Although they aren’t quite the team that upset Syracuse a year ago, Army looked sharp last weekend at Michie Stadium, taking down rival VMI 14-8 on a cold but pleasantly overcast day at West Point. Here’s some of my images from the Black Knights’ win (click on each to view larger).

Erzinger’s final game
Army captain Steve Erzinger will get one more day in the sun (or technically, under the lights) when he plays in Saturday’s East-West Shrine Game in Florida. The game, played at Tropicana Field (home of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays) features senior college football All-Stars from around the county, many of whom go one to the NFL.

Navy makes it 10 straight
It was another rough December Saturday for Army as Navy hit a pair of late field goals and hung on in the final minute for a 27-21 win at FedEx Field on Dec. 10. Navy has now won 10 straight meetings with West Point, unfathomable for Army fans and a continued dream for the Midshipmen.
Temple routs Army in Philly
Army fell to 3-8 on Saturday after a disappointing 42-14 loss to Temple at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Army remains winless now on the road this season and has one game left, a date with Navy in Washington, D.C. about a month from now.
Rutgers trips up Army in Bronx

Reaching USA Today
It may have been a small black and white photo on page 11B, but hey, still counts! After joining US Presswire a few weeks ago, I got my first photo published in a major newspaper on Monday when USA Today ran a picture of Don Bosco Prep’s Jabrill Peppers in the back of the sports section as part of a weekend recap.
